PDR-1 is a space activation initiative transforming underutilized San Francisco industrial warehouses into arts, culture, and small business innovation hubs. Housed within a 5,000-square-foot warehouse in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood, PDR-1 leverages its namesake zoning (Production, Distribution, and Repair) to create opportunities for artists, arts entrepreneurs and light industrial makers.

Rooted in community engagement and economic revitalization, PDR-1 serves as a platform for creative production and collaboration, showcasing both local and international artists while piloting new models for sustainable, community-centered development. Launching in Fall 2025, the space will showcase art, host curated gatherings and incubate entrepreneurial ventures that reimagine the role of warehouse space in shaping San Francisco’s cultural and economic future.
The African Outlet is a renowned purveyor of antiques as well as traditional and contemporary textiles, masks, sculptures, and jewelry from Africa. Since 1989, The African Outlet has been celebrating and sharing the richness of African history and culture with the Bayview-Hunters Point community and the greater San Francisco Bay Area.
Michael Reed is a self-taught artist making art for over 50 years using oil, acrylic, water color, and pastel to create abstract paintings and graphic art. Mr Reed is currently a Artist in Residence at the Shipyard Trust for the Arts (STAR)
Associated Builders (ABEI) is a leading San Francisco construction company licensed in General Engineering (A), Building (B), and Roofing and Waterproofing (C-39). ABEI is a certified Local Business Enterprise (LBE) by the City and County of San Francisco. ABEI is a member of the Better Business Bureau and pre-qualified by several lenders.
Christopher Chung is an urban planner by training and a building contractor by profession. Since returning to his native San Francisco, Chris has been applying his personal passion for the arts and 20+ years of project-based, international development experience towards launching PDR-1.
